About Eleanor (Ayo) Jones

See below biog.Ayo has a diverse and experienced background in performing arts spanning over 3 decades. As well as having a successful, fulfilled career as a dancer and actor, she developed her practice as an educator in the arts. She has devised dance, drama, storytelling workshops, and curriculum programs for arts organizations, schools, colleges, and universities within the Yorkshire region and nationally throughout the UK.Whilst working with Mango Creative Arts, Ayo co-wrote the 'Carnival Teaching Pack, published by Primary Colors. She also compiled and wrote the 'Hearts, Fruits and Flowers' Healthy Living Teaching Pack for The Heart Research Foundation. Whilst in the position of Inclusion Worker for the Behavior and Education Support Team, Leeds, UK, she delivered therapeutic dance and drama curriculum programs for young people attending offsite provisions and referral units. These workshops explored using open-ended questions and improvisation within a dance and drama framework to evoke a deeper understanding of topic-based work. They were also designed to engage the students in learning as well as support their mental and emotional well-being. In October 2015 Ayo graduated from The College of Executive Coaching as a Certified Personal and Executive Coach. She has coached and facilitated workshops for Loyola University, SolarCity (Tesla), and the Department of Agriculture.In March 2023 she graduated from the Breathe for Change program as a 200-hour certified yoga teacher and social emotional learning facilitator. She is currently the wellness committee lead at her school, where she teachers yoga to both staff and students and delivers SEL professional development training. Ayo holds a Maryland Education Certificate in Generic Special Education, grades 1-8. She has worked at Sheppard Pratt Health Type ll School for three years and currently works for Anne Arundel County Public Schools as a special education teacher working 6-8th grade students. Ayo was a workshop presenter at the 2023 Anne Arundel County Public School’s RISE conference, where she delivered a workshop on wellness strategies in the classroom. Ayo is passionate about the arts, coaching, wellness and education. She believes they have the potential to transform lives.
