Our homes usually have a mixture of different fragrances from household products such as perfumes and cleaning agents. I study what becomes of these smells and see if they have health impacts.I use a mass spectrometer(Vocus PTR MS) which works like the human nose to inhale the smells and can analyze their chemical compositions. My results will help build our understanding on how to improve the air quality inside buildings, especially since we spend most of our time indoors.
