About Ayomide Onime
Here are 8 things about me that you probably won't find on my CV. 1. My greatest strength is being able to make people fall in love with brands. 2. I love music in a way that I can't explain. No. It's not what you think. It's probably more intense than that. You'd always see me with headphones, earphones or sitting right in front of loud speakers.3. I love selling brands but I hate selling myself. 4. Orange Academy taught me that Empathy and passive observation is the most effective way to learn from the consumer you serve. If you watch them close enough, they'll show you patterns and reveal things about themselves that they might not divulge in a typical research context. That's why I stop, stare and internalise everything around me. I mean everything. Even the weirdest things. From the way people interact with one another, the reason for high pitched communication with certain people and low pitch for others, to the way they make choices or how they react to situational influences. 5. In 2023, a campaign I worked on as Lead Strategist earned Nigeria its first ever Cannes Lions nomination. Everything I do going forward has to top that. 6. I believe my purpose in life is to use my knowledge of Strategy to generate compelling creative stories that transform brands. I've been asked on numerous occasions that if I could pick any profession in the world, would I still choose Creative Storytelling? My Answer? I take a long pause... let out a deep sigh...smile...rub my head...utter a hearty chuckle.. and say "I can't imagine myself doing anything else". In an alternate universe, maybe I'd have joined the military.7. I've worked as a Strategist on more brands than I can actually recall. I'll try to name drop a few (First Bank of Nigeria, Flying Fish, Haier Thermocool, DJ ENIMONEY EnterPrise Life Insurance, O3 Cards, CKAY, Castle Lite, Globacom, United Bank for Africa, FIREBOY, Trophy Stout, Adron Homes, Sparkle Nigeria, Trophy Lager and so many many others).8. My super power is being 50% Strategist & 50% Creative. I create the most exciting, well thought out creative solutions that abides by brand guidelines, centres around the insight, solves the brand problem and still gives the creative high. So, I work 50% faster than the average creative director and generate strategic pathways quicker than a core strategist.
