Ayumi Moore Aoki is a social entrepreneur and visionary leader committed to driving positive change through technology. As the Founder and CEO of Women in Tech® Global, she leads a global movement empowering women and girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). With headquarters in Paris and a presence in over 50 countries, the organization has over 250,000 members and aims to empower 5 million women and girls in STEAM by 2030.Under Ayumi's leadership, Women in Tech® Global operates on four pillars: education, business, digital inclusion, and advocacy. These pillars support women in STEAM careers, empower entrepreneurs and leaders, ensure digital access, and challenge gender biases in tech.As a tech diplomat, Ayumi unites stakeholders across government, NGOs, academia, and the private sector. Her work on the Women in Tech US-EU Trade Mission has created opportunities for US female tech entrepreneurs, led by US Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, Marisa Lago. The Women in Tech Global Summit, recognized with the high patronage of French President Emmanuel Macron, demonstrates its global impact. Women in Tech® Global has established strategic partnerships with UN Women and various countries including France, Cape Verde, Burundi, USA, Uzbekistan, and Malaysia, and is an active member of the Edison Alliance of the World Economic Forum.A Member of the International Consultative Group of Experts for Closing the Gender Gap in Science at UNESCO, Ayumi speaks at major global events including LEAP (Riyadh), TEDx Ist (Portugal), UFM Business Forum (Barcelona), GMI Summit (Dubai), the UN Women's Forum (Samarkand), and the UN ESCAP Summit in Almaty. She has delivered keynotes at renowned institutions including Johns Hopkins University, Sciences Po, and École des Ponts.Born in Brazil to a Brazilian mother and Japanese father, Ayumi's diverse upbringing and experience living in South Africa during apartheid shaped her commitment to challenging discrimination. Her tech journey began in 2008 with self-taught coding, leading to founding Women in Tech® Global in 2018. Currently a Doctoral Candidate pursuing her Executive Doctoral Business Administration (EDBA) at École des Ponts Business School, Ayumi's research focuses on Tech Diplomacy: Bridging the Digital Divide and Promoting Global Equity, furthering her mission to drive systemic change through technology and international cooperation.
