Profile bio

About Antonio Lam, Bsc, Cct

With a constant desire to learn and grow as a professional while being exposed to different chemical processes, I have amassed over 10 years of technical experience in sample preparation, process operation & development, sampling & analysis, process optimization, waste management, and documentation. What I enjoy most about a project is when I can make an impact with my own hands. As a result, I greatly enjoy the design aspect for an apparatus to conduct a chemical experiment. I can perform pipe fitting using ABS, PVC, copper, and stainless steel pipes. By using hand & power tools or Swagelok parts, I can modify or fabricate small scale reactors. As a continued growth, I have started to wire and solder simple electrical equipment. These hands-on mechanical skills have translated outside of the lab as I enjoy fixing and building things for my home. Some of the best moments of my career are the projects where I went off-site as a Process Operator for our clients. Always up for an adventure, I have traveled remotely to a chemical production plant, a mine site, and a military naval base. By being physically fit for field work with the ability to adapt to any working environment, I have worked in extreme weather conditions and rotational hours to better serve our clients. To truly understand a process, I take the initiative to analyze the assays. At the end of a test, I will evaluate process performance by calculating mass balance & recoveries from assay data and reagent consumption. As a versatile individual, I will lend a helping hand by operating analytical instruments such as: AA, HPLC, IC, thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), and UV-Vis.However, there's only so much an individual can do on their own to contribute to the success of a project. By being an active basketball player outside of the lab, I understand the importance of communication in a team environment. Whether I'm part of a team as an employee or in a supervisory role, I make it an effort to ensure everyone is on the same page whether it's leading by example or through training.

Listed skills include Hplc, Laboratory, Chemistry, R&D, and 17 others.
