My background is in engineering and I worked for 2 large corporations after my undergraduate studies. I worked for Anglo Coal as a junior engineer where my focus was on developing an understanding of the mining operations from an engineering and production perspective. I rotated through several divisions of the mine and gained first hand experience in the operations. After 2 years I took a position with Siemens where I was responsible for system design, financial reporting, project management, quality assurance, and building client relationships for several industrial projects.I moved to Atlanta in May 2004 and started my PhD in engineering at Georgia Tech in early 2005. My focus was in the area of permanent magnet machine design and I completed several design projects in this area. Two years into program I graduated with a Masters degree and chose not to continue with my PhD. Instead, I pursued my MBA degree at Georgia Tech with a focus in Business Strategy & Operations.In the summer of 2008 I interned with Bank of America in Charlotte in their Operation program & had the opportunity to work on process redesign. While completing my MBA I work part-time as a Research Assistant for the Advanced Technology Development Center. ATDC is a business incubator which promotes the development of business in the State of Georgia. In my role I assisted Venture Catalysts to analyze business plans for prospective member companies, conducted market research, & assisted with the development of various tools.I graduated with my MBA in May 2009 & have since been working in Operations with the Chick-fil-A Corporate Support Center. I have held various roles in Operations, from directly supporting Owner Operators as a Business Consultant, to leading Quality focused programs and partnering with key departments as a Operations Liaison. My current role is focused on supporting Restaurant Excellence by creating and leveraging operational insights.
