As a social worker and psychotherapist (MSW, RSW), I currently develop curricula and facilitate trainings at a provincial level. I am a systems thinker, supporting children, individuals and families. My role also includes advocating for substantive equality, wholistic wellbeing and cultural continuity in child welfare.In my ten years of experience in frontline work, research and policy, across child welfare and adult protection, in both rural and urban settings, my aim has always been the same. I aim for truthful work grounded in and by communities. I work to honour people’s own stories, histories and their hopes for the future. My background in both economics and social work helps me to imagine and to move towards transformative practices. I hope to work within these spaces when it comes to human well-being and systems change. At the same time, as a first-generation immigrant raised in Ikaluktutiak (Cambridge Bay, Nunavut) within Inuit Nunangat (Inuit homelands), I am equally interested in strengthening understanding, capacity and relations between newcomer and Indigenous communities.
