About David Azevedo Silva
👨🔬 Since I was very young, my passion for science inspired me to learn the intricacies of biology and chemistry and how the synergy between nature and new technologies can improve our lives. Even today I spend a lot of my time contemplating nature and its wonderful gifts (a big part of that content can be found on my iNaturalist page at inaturalist.org/people/davidszilva).📚 With the goal of better understanding both man and its environment, I’ve concluded a master in pharmaceutical sciences and another master in plant biotechnology in which I developed a thesis in grapevine genomics. That led me to my current path in which I’m pursuing a PhD in Metagenomics and Bioinformatics. 👨💻 Most of all, what I really am passionate about is translational science, and I'm always excited about taking groundbreaking knowledge from fundamental sciences into applications to everyday life, from different fields of knowledge, plant genomics, bioinformatics, pharmacy or artificial intelligence.💼 I'm also a data science enthusiast and I love to organise scientific events of Data Science, Molecular Biology or other STEM related topics, where we share knowledge, experience and great moments of confraternization.
