Colleagues describe him as "I have had the pleasure of knowing Alex Ziqian Gao for the past year first as his professor in International Management and then as he worked for me as my teaching and research assistant. He was a great student in IM and one of the best, if not the best, TA and RAs that I have ever had. As a professor who teaches business classes in an undergraduate program, Alex has been more like a graduate TA/RA. For example, current students in IM meet with him and students in Policy class go over financial ratios with him. He also has a great sense of humor and even the dullest task, like wrapping coffee mugs for judges, ends in laughter. His greatest weakness is his impatience, which meshes well with my midwestern pragmatism. Alex is beloved by our faculty and staff. He is also the incoming President of the Accounting Society and took students to Hawaii....no not to surf, but to serve. Great person. I give him my highest recommendation. (Yes, I reach "Policy" one of the hardest classes at our school, so this is rare and well deserved praise.)"
