Project:- Murex OS Migration from Windows to SolarisClient:- Shinsei Bank (Japan)Location:- Japan / SingaporePeriod:- Nov 2011 to July 2012Project Details:-Shinsei Bank has been using Windows as the infrastructure for hosting Murex since inception, being one of the very few banks who were using Windows for running Murex. As a part of the infrastructure upgrade program it was proposed to move the existing infrastructure onto Solaris, to attain larger robustness, stability as well as continued support from Murex on the platform.Summary:- Review of existing infrastructure including connectivity with various Upstream and Downstream Applications. Murex version 2.11.36 configuration on Solaris servers. Actuate setup on Windows Server. Market Data configuration. Samba configuration on Solaris. NFS Sharing and Mount on all load balancer servers. Printer configuration on Solaris server. Shell script for start and stop murex with all other services on load balancers and housekeeping script. JP1 scheduler setup. Reconciliation of all datamart reports generated on daily and monthly basis. MXML interface setup (BARX, Reuters, EBS, and MarkIT Wire). Ensure that all the workflows are working properly on Solaris environment. Ensure that all datamart reports are generated properly. Execute multiple rounds of testing and reconciliation of the new Solaris based system infrastructure with the existing Windows based Production infrastructure. Coordination with Infrastructure, Security, Librarian and other Support Teams for review and finalization of the new infrastructure.

Responsibilities:Providing technical support to the Treasury Department of ICICI bank spread over 9 geographies across the globe. Application support for Murex2000 (java, oracle and xml), MLC (Murex Limit controller) and Actuate (Reporting Tool), many other banking applications.Summary: Giving second escalation level support to the Users, Front, Middle and Back office for Murex. Deployment of all UAT customized configuration in to the Murex Live production (that includes accounting setup, UDF creation, consistency rules, MIS reports, MXML workflows, payment templates, formulas, configuration and other application configuration). Working on MXML configuration involving flow design of the deals along with the configuration of the various payment and deal messages and its monitoring. Troubleshooting in deal accounting entries issues, payment issues, workflow formulas issues, report datamart related issues, work-group rights issues, accounting EOD issues, UNIX shell scripting automation failure issues etc. Handling the datamart issues and development of report by mapping of (dynamic table, feeder, report, batches of feeder, batches of report, scripting definition, providing script rights and same has been automating writing in shell scripting in UNIX). Support of various interfaces (D3K, RETAD, NDS, Dashboard, FLEX, ADS, MCX Currency future etc) from where deal gets imported in Murex application and their workflows. Part of the Environment setup of Murex product in various UAT environments. Handling database issues of Murex Production and UAT environment. Handling and solving issues for users by SQL queries, creating tables, modifying table structure, table space monitoring. Planning, scheduling and executing various server maintenance related tasks in the given downtime. Coordinating with various internal teams for better functioning e.g.:- Oracle/Sybase DBA team, SYS Admin, NET Admin team for OS support.

My responsibilities are to upload the bulk data, reconciliation of data, provide various reports through using optimized SQL queries and PL/SQL stored procedures. Oracle 9i is the database. Logic and Optimization are the basic need of the project. Import and export of dump file. Upload of bulk data through SQL loader generated from various systems. Execution and monitoring of the procedures. Testing of new procedures developed as per the business requirement. Handling and solving issues for users by SQL queries, creating tables, modifying table structure, table space monitoring. Meeting the weekly, fortnightly and monthly deadlines.  Collate data in an efficient manner from various groups for the timely meeting the deadline.
