Enjoying the fact that SAUDIA airlines has managed to bump up its SKYTRAX position from number 82 in 2016 to number 51 in 2017, Azman Ahmad looks forward to putting Saudia on a higher pedestal. Not an easy feat but it is not impossible. This honour involves great team efforts and clear strategy of innovation and improvement. In Hamburg February 2017, Azman was honoured with Innovator of the year award achievable only with the support from his colleagues, peers and loved ones. Continuously improving professionally and in personal life chosen as a mantra, this father of two aims to also mentor and coach anyone who is willing to work and collaborate with him.2016 and 2017 have been instrumental for Product Management in Saudia. A daunting task is ahead with a structured cost savings initiated in May 2015 to reduce the expenditure while the challenge is head on to push Saudia to be a 5 Star carrier. The team has achieved several of its target but plenty more to do. In 2019, Saudia continued the journey to soar higher by reconstructing her products from ground up in total mental shift and onboard products and services. This journey started in April 2018 and is now progressing to all major destinations for Saudia in 2019 and 2020. The ratings and Net Promoter Score has tremendously improved by the end of 2019 but it is still a long way to go for the airline. On a very personal basis, Azman is an open water and adventure diver (Next, Raja Ampat Indonesia will be his playground in 2020). He also finds solace in posting self-captured photographs online on good simple basic food and coffee finds all around the world, Pilates, fitness, music and movies. Prior to SAUDIA, he was one of the key trainers for a program called I CAN and a total of 200 of his former colleagues in Malaysia Airlines (MH) had his sessions on changing mindset and staying positive. MH370 marks another development in his career. He spent 42 days in Beijing, China representing MH assisting the next of kin(NOK) while collaborated with the Malaysian government and China Ministry of Foreign Affairs there.Speaking as panel at international conferences related to airlines, management and service industry confirms his drive to impart knowledge.NutritionContract Negotiation Product LifecycleQuality, hygiene & Halal auditsCustomer ExperienceTravel Agents AdvisoryAirlines Sales & MarketingCustomer ResponseTeam Building

Regional Senior Vice President, Sales MalaysiaMalaysia Airlines Nov 2008 - Jan 2012MalaysiaOver 3 years’ experience driving sales growth and improving Malaysia Airlines visibility and relationship with travel agents, travel agents’ association, tourism offices, organizations and government. Highly competitive, passionate, persuasive and articulate, results oriented even when others believed to be impossible. Demonstrated successful record in:■ Improving sales performance for Domestic sectors especially government movement.■ Regaining the trust of agents with improved working relationship ■ Instilling values amongst staff, overcoming objections and securing deals.■ Motivating staff to peak performance levels.■ Proven record of initiatives and success in campaign or trade fair managementWith the exception of 4 big travel agents in Malaysia, a majority of the other agents, are privately owned. The owners are the source of all instructions and the direction for the company and most of all the revenue. P&L is key to their survival. My job then was to rally these agents big and small to support Malaysia Airlines. What I did was to engage with all levels of staff but pay particular attention to the top agents and owners that contribute to the 80% of Malaysia Airlines revenue. The success rate that I have accomplished within the 3 years has been gratifying. Amidst all the competition from Middle Eastern, other Asian and low cost carriers, Malaysia Sales team has been able to increase the revenue in 2011 even though there are more supply versus demand in terms of seats availability and capacity.CORE COMPETENCIES Campaign or Trade Fair Management and Coordination Budgeting/ForecastingAccount Development Competitive/Strategic Planning Prospecting/ Client Cultivation Tactical Development Product Lifecycle Management Customer /Vendor Relationship Staff Management Project Management Policy Development Administration -
