Dr. Z treats individuals presenting with difficulties related to depression, anxiety, ADHD, executive dysfunction, sport performance, adjustment issues, anger, bereavement, chronic illness, history of trauma, and substance abuse. She led social skills training groups for a variety of ages. Dr. Z’s clinical focus is to encourage individuals to consciously adjust the lens through which they view life and circumstances and move in a value-consistent direction to reduce suffering. She uses experiential exercises and present-moment awareness to increase psychological flexibility and frustration tolerance. She was also trained in traditional CBT and incorporates techniques. Dr. Z also has experience presenting a multitude of workshops on topics related to ADHD, executive functioning and procrastination, sport performance, mental health difficulties in children and adults, psychological flexibility, and maximizing productivity and performance. Dr. Z has experience working in school districts across all levels, including school-based counseling and social skills groups with students, as well as consultation with staff. She conducted IEP meetings for students with a range of classifications, including learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disturbance, OHI, and autism spectrum disorder.
