Azura Nasron, a Political Science graduate, is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Southeast Asian Studies at the University of Malaya. With nine years in the civil society sector, she started as Chair of Gerakan Pembebasan Akademik, advocating for academic freedom, and has written for Jurnal Sang Pemula on social justice issues.As the Programme Manager at SUARAM, an NGO focused on repealing repressive laws and promoting human rights, Azura manages funding programs, oversees budgets, plans initiatives, and represents the organization at international meetings. She ensures that SUARAM’s projects align with its vision and mission, handling project reporting and evaluation.Additionally, Azura is a Partner at Legal Dignity, a queer-affirming feminist initiative advocating for the rights of sexual minorities in Malaysia.Rekod Media, where Azura contributes, is a vibrant media company specializing in creating engaging short videos, documentaries, and animations to present progressive and humanist ideas to young audiences.
