As a Surgical Neurophysiologist, I specialize in intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) to protect and preserve neurological function during complex surgeries. By continuously assessing the electrical activity of the nervous system, I work closely with the surgical team to reduce the risk of injury to the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. As part of the surgical team at various NYC hospitals, I shadowed experienced Surgical Neurophysiologists and trained closely with neurologists, anesthesiologists/nurse anesthetists, surgeons (neuro, orthro, plastic) and other clinicians. During surgery, I tested and monitored our patient’s nervous system with intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM). This technology uses data from various modalities of evoked potentials, pedicle screw and direct nerve stimulation to give the surgical team insight into the patient’s nervous system by notifying them of any changes in real-time. This is done with remote neurologist oversight so surgeons can get a warning to avoid neurological injuries during spine and neurosurgery.

Delivered specialized care to individuals diagnosed with psychiatric disorders and intellectual disabilities. I conducted detailed monitoring of patient health statuses, administered direct patient care, and implemented therapeutic intervention as per hospital protocol. Furthermore, I collaborated with a multidisciplinary medical team of nurses, psychologists, therapists and psychiatrists to ensure adherence to clinical protocols and ethical standards. My responsibilities included meticulous documentation of patient interactions, behavior and progress. Additionally, I am committed to ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices in psychiatric care.

Executed Phase 1 through 4 clinical trials for fitness device, sleep and psychiatric drug research in collaboration with the clinical operations team by performing various administrative and clinical research tasks such as research documentation, subject screening, vital measurement, electrocardiography (ECG), urinalysis and phlebotomy. My role was very hands-on and required me to complete all case report forms, resolve all outstanding queries, process research lab kits, report all Adverse Events and Serious Adverse Events, review and revise data collection, resolve any procedural issues, support and train fellow clinical researchers as needed.
