I was responsible for creating, editing, managing, and strategizing content. I helped craft overarching messaging for 4 large semester-long campaigns and countless mini campaigns. This includes working closely with the teams creating the actual campaign materials, including films, short videos, print materials, social media assets, web graphics, mini sites, etc.Invisible Children was responsible for the viral KONY 2012 film and campaign that garnered 100 million views in just six days. I contributed to the film itself and the overall campaign messaging. I was also a key member of the teams that produced the KONY 2012 "action kit" and KONY2012.com. This position required me to write in all styles for all mediums. In 2012 I standardized an editorial style guide that covers everything from grammar to word choice to style to branding. Around the same time I collaborated with multiple departments to establish boilerplate copy surrounding Invisible Children's programs, history, and mission.In 2013 I created an Intranet and was promoted from Staff Writer to Lead Writer.

Resolve uses grassroots activism and political advocacy to influence U.S. policies towards bringing an end to the violence of Joseph Kony and the LRA in central Africa. I wrote materials to support these efforts. Some blogs were meant to mobilize young people to engage in local lobby meetings with their members of Congress; other blogs provided updates and proof of success.It was my job to make sure all of Resolve's written materials were clearly written and easy for the intended audience to understand, despite the complex subject matter. When the organization sent out mass emails, I pared the text down to the essentials. This position included all kinds of copy writing, editing, and proofreading for web, print, and email.I closely edited field research reports for overall readability, particularly making sure that the analysis portions were clear.

Invisible Children exists to bring a permanent end to the atrocities of Joseph Kony and the Lord's Resistance Army in central Africa. I wrote approximately 17 blogs per week to a daily readership of 1,600. Our audience consisted primarily of 14-25 year olds. Blog topics included commentary and discussion of art, culture, grassroots advocacy, literature, social enterprises, and international development. I also covered updates about Invisible Children's work in Africa and in the United States.I also contributed to press communications, articles for print, and social media content, plus tax receipts, letters to donors, banner ads, and other miscellaneous projects.
