B. Benjamin Haas is a tax attorney and the Director of Federal Tax Planning & Policy for Constellation Energy Corporation. Ben is responsible for general transactional tax matters as well as acquisitions, dispositions, internal restructurings, federal tax legislative and administrative matters, and IRS tax controversies. He leads strategic tax planning initiatives for Constellation and its subsidiaries and serves as Constellation’s in-house tax counsel. Ben originated and built the Federal Tax Planning & Policy Group while at Constellation’s predecessor, Exelon Corporation. Ben is the co-founder and is the Co-Chair of Constellation’s internal tax technical review committee, which ensures quality control for all significant tax positions taken by Constellation and its subsidiaries.Ben is a member of the American Bar Association Taxation Section, as well as the Pennsylvania Bar Association Taxation Section. He is also a member of the Tax Executive Institute’s Philadelphia Chapter and the American Association of Corporate Counsel. He has written several articles on tax related matters and has lectured on tax matters at industry sponsored conferences and at American Bar Association and Pennsylvania Bar Association sponsored conferences. Ben is currently the Chair of the Tax Section of the ABA Infrastructe and Regulated Industries Section.Ben is an adjunct professor of law in the Graduate Tax Program of Temple University School of Law and a former adjunct professor of law and current guest lecturer in the Graduate Tax Program of Villanova University School of Law.Before joining Constellation, he served in the same role at Exelon Corporation. Prior to that, Ben practiced as a tax attorney with Morgan Lewis & Bockius, LLP and Pepper Hamilton, LLP, both in Philadelphia, PA. He earned his B.A. degree in Economics from Temple University, and his J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation degrees from Villanova University School of Law.
