Then the Fund was renamed Evergreen STRATEGIC Municipal Bond Fund in October 2004, fourteen years into Mr. Stamper's turn as Portfolio Manager of the Fund, based on his style of management taking advantage of the Fund's wide open prospectus to lower and raise credit quality and lengthen and shorten duration, among other strategies he implemented. Finally, in May 2010 the Fund was re-named Wells Fargo Strategic Municipal Bond fund. Importantly, the symbols (VMPYX, VMPAX, VMPIX, etc.) were always the same. (To make it more complicated, a while after the Fund was re-named Evergreen Strategic Municipal Bond Fund a different Evergreen fund was given one of its previous names: Evergreen High Income Muni - but it had its own, different symbols.)
