As Associate Director for Enforcement in the Fort Worth Regional Office, I direct and oversee the SEC’s enforcement activities in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas. I lead a dedicated team of more than 60 individuals with a passion for protecting investors.As Regional Trial Counsel/Assistant Director, I regularly advised senior management in Fort Worth and Washington on matters affecting the SEC, the Division of Enforcement, and the Fort Worth Regional Office (FWRO). I also directed and oversaw all litigation for the FWRO and lead the FWRO Trial Unit--a talented team of trial attorneys and paralegals with active litigation dockets--in representing the SEC in nationwide federal civil litigation and in representing the Division of Enforcement in administrative proceedings. I led and guided the FWRO Trial Unit from pre-filing considerations through trial, including forum selection, expert retention, discovery, the filing of summary judgment and pre-trial motions, Daubert challenges, jury selection, opening statements, witness prep, jury instructions, and closing arguments. I also coordinated with federal, state, and foreign civil and criminal authorities.During my SEC career, I have tried three of the highest profile FWRO matters over the past 12-13 years, and have been involved in more than 20 successful emergency actions to halt ongoing frauds and obtain TROs/preliminary injunctions, asset freezes, and/or appointment of receivers. I have also received several honors and awards, including the prestigious Arthur F. Mathews Award and Director's Awards for superior work litigating and investigating national priority cases.
