Responsible for management both of Technology Research & Development and for Engineering Process Design.

As Director of Polyolefins Process Research & Development, I directed approximately 150 scientists and technicians in developing cutting edge process technology for manufacture of polyethylene, polypropylene, and EPR/EPDM resins, all based on Union Carbide's proprietary UNIPOL fluidized bed reaction technology. Included was a $20M/year, round-the-clock pilot plant operation consisting of 10 fluidized bed pilot reactors and associated raw materials purification system; off-line "cold" testing labs; product testing lab; advanced process control technology development; and product handling and shipping. Using designed experiments, chemical engineering staff and technicians developed model correlations for optimized process conditions and catalyst formulations used by over 150 domestic and licensee reactors world-wide. I also served as Steering Team Chair for a new-technology PE manufacturing plant in Louisiana.
