Oversight and management of projects supporting enhanced community engagement and implementation of environmental site assessments, cleanup, and sustainable reuse of brownfield sites. These projects are in environmental justice communities. The team focuses on issues relating to land contamination, community impacts, and remediation processes. Help guide federal, state, and local partners through the cleanup and redevelopment processes by overseeing grant funding and providing technical assistance. Conducting program outreach in new communities, and promoting collaboration across EPA programs.

Temporary research for Dr. Rochelle Holm (UofL) and Dr. Colleen Naughton (UCM) on the lack of standardization of COVID-19 wastewater surveillance dashboards. Provided a list of dashboards from the COVIDPoops19 website, geographic area covered, and viewer tracking results. Using qualitative and quantitative analysis, I sorted through over 130 dashboards to compare their methods of graphing/data display for COVID-19 wastewater sampling. I reviewed and outlined all the ways viral concentration has been presented on these dashboards (ranges of concentrations (min,max,avg), plus range of units and constituents). Identified common dashboard themes, takeaways, and how public health principles are woven throughout each. Finally, I collaborated on a manuscript to present findings and address the lack of standardization within the dashboards.

Summer internship for Lawrence Livermore National Lab in the Carbon Cleanup Initiative Program. Using ArcGIS StoryMaps, I created an immersive and compelling story that synthesized qualities and quantitative geospatial data on carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology. This included a public affairs strategy for key stakeholders as well as a rollout plan and engagement through press releases, exclusive interviews, graphic elements, podcasts with LLNL scientists, I also contributed to a collection of educational resources while managing all citations, photos, and other media used for accurate referencing.
