In February 2019 NZX commenced its Trading System Uprade (TSU) project. The TSU project is part of NZX’s strategy to ensure its technology remains fit for purpose. An upgrade to the trading system was identified in NZX’s five year strategy as a key driver for secondary market development and growth. I am the single point of contact for all NZX's communications with external clients and stakeholders on the TSU project and will involved in shaping and delivering all communications objectives throughout the TSU project.

The Markets Relationship Associate (MRA) role is to be the conjoint between the NZX and its clients, driving a customer service ethos ensuring the delivery of client outcomes. The MRA Communicates the exchanges secondary market messaging to internal stakeholders, clients and the wider market. This is achieved through rich knowledge of NZX’s secondary markets, global trends across markets, NZX’s Participants, clients and products.

Responsible for monitoring trading activity on all NZX Boards (Equity, Debt & Derivatives) for fairness and transparency. A primary function of this role was researching and analysing trading strategies for potential market manipulation and insider trading. I would then collate and refer analysis and enquiries to external regulatory bodies such as the Financial Markets Authority (FMA). Facilitated efficient daily settlement of all equity, debt and derivative trades through the BaNCS systemReal time monitoring- Monitor daily batch processes and other timetabled system events- Contacting external clients to deal with anomalies or incidents- Incident management with internal stakeholdersCash flows- Manage and reconcile the daily cash flows of the depository- Liaise with settlement banks- Maintain investment exposure within prescribed limitsReporting and Analysis- Produce monthly reports for internal and external customers- Respond promptly and accurately to external client queriesProcess documentation and testing- Maintain documentation for all Settlement Operations processes- Participated in technology and process testing
