  Co-founded Cosmo Powertech Pvt Ltd to engage in research, development, manufacturing and commercial deployment of energy technologies.Technologies developed and commercially offered include:- updraft coal gasifiers (producer gas plants)- updraft biomass gasifiers- downdraft biomass gasifiers- regenerative burners- commercial biomass cook-stovesThe gasifiers have been used by the clients for variety applications ranging from decentralized power generation to substitution of petroleum fuels in different type of kilns and furnaces. Commercial biomass cook-stoves are replacing LPG and diesel cook stoves in commercial / community establishments such as restaurants, hotels, dhabas, and hostels.I have been very much involved in deploying coal gasifiers to meet thermal energy demands in the iron & steel industry. The various segments of the industry include pellet plants, rolling mills, galvanizing plants, and wire annealing units.Recently commercialized COSMO 4.6 DSG (4.6 m double stage gasifier), which is the largest atmospheric pressure updraft gasifier available in India, is fast becoming the preferred work-horse for large scale gasification facilities (e.g. for pellet plants).Built expertise in gasification of high ash (up to 47%) Indian coal and generating good quality gas that can meet most of the industrial heating applications. Current R&D activities include:- fluidized bed gasification of high ash Indian coal- Pyrolysis of coal for simultaneous production of char (carbon source for metallurgical reduction) and high value gas- gasification and pyrolysis of biomass for simultaneous production of green carbon and green hydrogen
