This entails actively contributing to the team's success and ensuring smooth operations.I have successfully contributed to several noteworthy projects, some of which include:- Migration of our article knowledge base: I led the effort to migrate our article knowledge base from our previous CRM system to a new one. This transition was executed seamlessly, ensuring zero downtime for our users. By overseeing this process, I played a crucial role in maintaining uninterrupted access to valuable information for our users.- Synchronisation of edited data from our knowledge base: Another project I spearheaded involved synchronising edited data from our CRM back to our systems. The goal was to enable our users to access updated content more efficiently. Through my efforts, we managed to reduce the time it takes for users to view the updated content by approximately 83%. This enhancement significantly improved the user experience, enabling them to access new information faster than ever before.By actively contributing to these projects, I have demonstrated my ability to tackle complex technical challenges and deliver tangible results. I worked as a Software Engineer within the Help Centre team at Luno (https://luno.com/help). My role encompassed managing and deploying the Go microservices responsible for various functionalities, such as updating articles, live chat availability, Toshi chatbot access, and support ticket creation.Among the significant projects I contributed to, two stand out. Firstly, I led the implementation of an asynchronous ticket creation process with our CRM. This change ensured that any system downtime would not directly impact our customers, allowing them to continue receiving support seamlessly. Secondly, I collaborated on integrating features that enabled the chatbot team to deliver a personalized experience based on users' KYC level, location, and language. To enhance security, we also implemented an authentication step to prevent impersonation.In addition to these projects, I took on the responsibility of improving our Grafana monitoring dashboards and customizing Slack alerts. I served in the role of a Senior Software Developer, firstly, working on TaxPacc, a Windows Forms based app used for calculating an organisations tax and completing their tax returns, our clients normally install TaxPacc on their own internal networks, but we have also made an Azure-hosted option available to our clients, where we manage the infrastructure as well as updates to the environments. Secondly, working on a new and much more flexible system that we are designing from the ground up, called CarbonX, initially this software will be used to do a companies carbon tax calculations, but later on will replace TaxPacc altogether. I served in the role of an Analyst Developer, working on C# applications, SQL Server databases as well as doing the work of a Business Analyst. Our main focus is the software used by our clients, the financial advisers, on a daily basis. They use this software for managing and keeping track of their client's investments, as well as building custom investment portfolios. The module I worked on the most would be the report generation part of the system, to which I have made significant improvements, including the ability to embed one document within another at the point of generation as well as using a tagging system to replace values during generation. I have also added functionality that allows our clients to submit log files, screenshots as well as other important bits of information when something goes awry directly from within the software that gets sent directly to the support mailbox.
