Retain the responsibilities of a Medical and Mechanical Arts Patent Classifier as needed in the Intellectual Property Services program by analyzing and classifying patents related to biotech, molecular biology, immunology, medical devices, implantable prosthetics, electrosurgical devices, robotic surgical instruments, mechanical manufacturing processes and devices, and electrical connector technologies.Develop, maintain, and deliver curriculum relating to multiple lines of work within the Intellectual Property Services program at Serco, including initial patent classification services for the USPTO, patent reclassification services for the USPTO and EPO, and commercial patent search services.Instruct and mentor over 70 new patent classifiers in a one-on-one teaching setting by advising them on classification processes and workflow management practices so they can meet the quality standard of fewer than 5 errors per 100 classifications assigned while also maintaining production benchmarks.Coordinate and communicate technical search strategies between commercial patent search clients and patent searchers to ensure patent search requests meet customers’ prosecution and litigation strategies. Additionally, provide a supervisory quality review of all commercial patent search references and opinions produced in the Intellectual Property Services program.Led the design and delivered workshops to the Patent Information Users Group (PIUG) and National Association of Patent Practitioners (NAPP) conferences to teach the CPC patent classification process to patent searchers and patent practitioners for CLEs.
