About Tim Hermes

You hear the story about the guy who started a watch company with no experience in jewelry, retail, manufacturing or online sales? And self-funded it too?After 30+ years in media along with a lifelong passion for horology, travel and adventure, we founded Monterey Watch Co. in May of 2022. In less than two years, MWC has over 2,000 customers with timepieces on every continent (including Antarctica! Cold but true.) We have been to Everest, summited Kilimanjaro, become honorary Masai chieftains, climbed to Macchu Picchu, met the King of England (for real) and been on the wrists of hundreds of adventurers around the world.Our premise is simple. A really killer automatic wristwatch at a fair price. Assembled here in the USA. We just thought it sounded kinda cool. Classy yet surf-y. Sky, sun, ocean. A little Pacific, a little Mediterranean. A night at the casinos in Monaco. Spearfishing in the Maldives. Cue the theme music. You get it. Umm, yeah, and then there's the fact that the owner shares a last name with a famous fashion brand that just may cause some copyright issues.
