• Maintenance and safety activities on both the wheel house and on deck as directed and supervised by the chief officer.• Engaging in traffic negotiations with other vessels and also assisting in the safe mooring of the vessel under the supervision of a deck officer• Involving in port operations while at port, which include watch keeping(radio and bridge watch) and also making sure the loading and discharging of cargo is performed correctly under the supervision of a deck officer• Keeping of daily, voyage, and work activities/maintenances record in the appropriate ship’s logbook• Preparation and proper positioning of firefighting equipments for cargo operation before and after cargo operations• Preparation of checklists and other vital documents necessary for cargo operation before and after cargo operations• Cargo quantity calculation under the strict supervision of the chief officer
