About Babar Iqbal

As a first-generation child, I was introduced to the healthcare field at a young age as a translator and soon realized that the healthcare industry has a significant amount of inequalities and barriers. I witnessed several close family members with severe medical conditions struggle to receive adequate healthcare due to various health disparities. This life experience, coupled with my studies at UNC-Chapel and work at Health Career Connection, formed my ultimate career goal. To reduce healthcare barriers and disparities by increasing access to adequate healthcare and promoting health equity for all, particularly for marginalized communities. Currently, I serve as the Program Coordinator at Health Career Connection, where I guide and lead college students, who are the next generation of healthcare professionals, to develop innovative and inclusive solutions to combat health disparities and create a more equitable healthcare system.
