• Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to make network capacity meets existing and future requirements of Forte Oil PLC• Managing, coordinate and maintain Forte Oil PLC’s Information Technology Data Center physical and enterprise infrastructure systems.• Design and provide disaster recovery plan for the backup and recovery of critical data in order to guarantee business continuity.• Develop and Establish service level agreements with Forte Oil end users.• Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the Forte Oil’s network.• Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for IT projects and associated efforts.• Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.• Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.• Manage and ensure effectiveness of servers, including e-mail, print, and backup servers, and their associated operating systems and software. • Responsible for on-site and off-site data centers.• Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, UPSs, and so on.•Recommend frameworks and mechanisms for maximizing network performance and reducing network associated risks e.g. viruses. Undertake routine preventive measures and implement, maintain and monitor network security. •Manage user and email accounts using Microsoft Windows 2012 active directory server and Microsoft Exchange server 2012 server•Administering Forte’s EMC VNX storage (Provision of LUNS,File systems, etc to Linux and Windows hosts)•Configuring and managing Forte’s EMC Networker Backup and Recovery, and EMC DataDomain•Installing, Configuring and Managing IBM AIX Power blade Center and Power Systems•Work closely with service providers to ensure adherence with agreed SLA

 Participate in the articulation and development of departmental plans and programs to facilitate the realization of Forte Oil PLC’s overall business strategy and operational plans. Oversee the administration/ maintenance and upgrade of the company’s IP telephony Configure and maintain company’s Local and wide area networks Work with the Information Technology Manager to design and implement network architecture to support business processes and enable operational excellence. Champion the documentation and regular updates of IT security policies and aggressively monitor and report non-compliance. Administering Forte’s EMC VNX storage ( Provision of storage pool, storage LUN, storage group, logical volume, file system, volume group etc) for windows, Linux and IBM AIX hosts. Managing and Administering Forte Oil’s EMC Networker Oversee the installation, upgrade and configuration of network printers, directory structures, user access, and security software and file services using windows Server 2003 and windows Server 2008. Oversee the setup of user email accounts, permissions, passwords and allocation of network resources using Zimbra collaboration suite. Monitor network usage and ensure user compliance with approved guidelines. Suggest strategies for managing anticipated downtimes to reduce the impact on business operations. Serve as a technical resource and second-level escalation point for complex network related issues. Participate/provide input in vendor and software selection process. Monitor the maintenance and update of the configuration management system to track configuration management items (i.e. hardware, software and network). Oversee the hosting and maintenance of FORTE OIL PLC’s corporate website. Participate in training/capacity building programs for both users and technical support staff. Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Information Technology Manager.

 Assist in the installation, configuration and maintenance of network components and upgrade. Assist in establishing user profiles, user environments, directories and security/upgrade. Assist in monitoring network usage and report non-compliance to network administrator. Participate in routine preventive measures to ensure the integrity of network. Assist in managing African Petroleum website and keep internal networks running.  Serve as first level escalation point for network related issues.  Ensure prompt resolution of all network related issues and error log.  Communicate and manage anticipated down times.  Assist in organizing relevant awareness and capacity building programs for both end users and support staff organization-wide.  Prepare/compile agreed periodic reports for the attention of the network and hardware administrator.  Stay abreast of innovations, trends and best practices and recommend improvement opportunities to the Information Technology Manager.
