Managed exports of Fresh and Frozen Fruits & Vegetables to more than 20 countries in Middle East, Far East, Europe and North America. Represented the company in the international food fairs & initiated exports of IQF Fruits & Vegetables to North America, Australia & Russian markets.

METRO Pakistan (Pvt.) Limited is part of METRO GROUP’s sales division METRO Cash & Carry, the international leader in self-service wholesale. The company operates more than 750 stores in 25 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. Commercial & supply chain leader of a PKR 6 Bln (USD 37 Mln) portfolio of Dairy & Deep Frozen categories. Procurement lead for imported product’s segment across ultra-fresh, FMCG, dry food and non-food. Delivered a sales growth of 25% and income growth of 5%P. Introduced a complete solution of Frozen Ready to Cook range under private label which helped improving the income.

Responsible for the Imports Portfolio covering product groups across Food and Non- Food. Plans to deliver the agreed sales and income targets across all customer channels. Managed budgets for procurement and logistics costs (> 25 Million USD, assortment spread of 3,000 SKUs with > 50 suppliers local & overseas). Established Direct Import infrastructure and pushed it to a growth of 200% within a year – income improvement by 15%P. Developed consolidation hubs in China, Thailand, Dubai and competitive sourcing options in other regions of the world. Initiated Cross-Border Trade with India for the frozen meat, French fries– both via sea and land route. Avg. 20 TEU/Month.

Responsible to lead the logistics & operations side of the supply chain. Key responsibilities included ensuring a robust logistics network & effectively managing the logistics cost budget. Planned and implemented Indirect Flow (BBXD) for METRO Pakistan - negotiated and linked > 150 supplies to a centralized flow which contributed 7% in the total intake. Established two temperature controlled warehouses with avg. 800 pallet spots storage to manage imports. Structured Logistics Network for Customer Deliveries with more than 100 vehicles in the field.

Responsible for the P&L & performance KPIs of the region & to ensure a highly motivated team.

Responsible to manage the corporate customers in terms of ordering, deliveries, credit & business development. Project leader for the “fruits & vegetables platform” which was a purpose built facility for METRO Pakistan. A monthly throughput of > 300 tons with 5 direct reports and 40 on ground staff.Managed the P & L for the facility, cost optimization initiatives, achieving customer KPIs and operational efficiencies.
