As an Optics Supplier Quality Engineer, responsible for setting up and managing quality standards across all pluggable and embedded optics buy for Juniper. Responsibilities include• Define, establish, and drive the highest supplier Quality standards for all new and existing Optic products. • Methodically drive supplier quality excellence through FMEA, SPC, Process Capability assessments, measurement capability assessments, DFM, DFT, and DFR.• Initiate and manage supplier quality initiatives and strategic plans related to both new and sustaining products. Provide consultation to the design, manufacturing and commodity teams on the selection, and sourcing of all Optics. • Evaluate prospective suppliers to ensure capabilities, capacity, quality and processes, and alignment to Juniper procurement needs.• Lead all supplier audits to ensure conformity to set contractual requirements, evaluate QMS, manufacturing line controls, and compliance to Juniper Quality standards.• Lead all Optics supplier quality escalations for root cause investigations, containment, and CAPA. • Utilize the Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) program to ensure suppliers meet performance requirements in quality and service throughout the product life-cycle. • Lead supplier quality discussions at both internal business reviews and supplier QBRs.• Mentor new associates and other team members.• Proactive role and emphasis on continuous improvement in processes and QMS at supplier.• Work closely with Engineering/NPI groups, Supply Chain and Suppliers to ensure successful product introduction and life cycle management• Identify Critical to Quality processes and product metrics and drive sustainable and significant improvement at suppliers.• Lead cross functional audit, manage any 3rd party audits and train internal auditors

Product involvement from concept to offshore manufacturing transfer. Responsibilities included defining setup and test algorithms for laser driver, digital diagnostic monitors, fault and functional coverage of design marginalities, and final product test suite for production. During Alpha and Beta product phase, debugged optical sub-assemblies, PCBA, and modules for yield improvements. Evaluated firmware, test hardware, test software, define and execute firmware PVT, product DVT for product qualification and manufacturing. Developed whole product structures with complete BOM development of the base product and customized versions. Managed various MSA (Multi-source agreement) conformance and customization projects with GAP analysis. Performed product cost and capacity modeling, NPI-to-Production hand-offs, including offshore product transfer with GR&R, documentations, staff training and overall site qualification sign-off.
