In this way, I hand YOU the tools to understand science and to interpret it correctly. As co-promotor, I am involved in a project about preconception care during the periconceptional period.

Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, research group Periconception Epidemiology.I studied sleep and mental health in the periconceptional period, as part of a healthy lifestyle. Next to that, I also contributed to various projects in preconception care, eHealth, and cardiovascular health.Tasks:- Writing of manuscripts.- Supervision of BSc and MSc students and a PhD student.- Writing of grant applications.- Participation in the Convergence for Health & Technology between Erasmus MC, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and TU Delft.

I was asked to take place in the committee for the NWA call Science Communication 2024. In this role, I evaluated research proposals about Science Communication.

I worked as a program manager in the cluster Efficiency Studies. Here, I was responsible for the management of the subsidy round of 2019 in the subsidy program Healthcare Evaluation and Appropriate Use.

The Bright Up study: the effects of bright light therapy for depression during pregnancy.Next to this project, I studied the effects of seasons and of sleep during pregnancy and I conducted various projects in the use of medication before, during and after pregnancy.Thesis: 'Depression during Pregnancy - Light, Seasons and Sleep'.Date of defense: 12th of February, 2020.Key achievements:- Starting and running the largest international RCT studying light therapy for depression during pregnancy.- Publication of one research protocol, four research articles, and two meta-analyses.- Received one personal grant, two travel grants, and a poster award.- Supervised 16 bachelor and master students (medicine, psychology, and midwifery).Appeared in (amongst others) de Volkskrant, Quest, Universiteit van Nederland, Algemeen Dagblad, Ouders van Nu, NPO Radio 1 (De Nieuwsshow en De Nacht is Zwart), NU.nl and various podcasts (VerlosMoeder, LeefstijlLab and FIT.nl).

During my PhD project, I received a personal grant to conduct research at the University of Aarhus in Denmark for 2 months. Here, I studied the use of benzodiazepines in the peripartum period. This study has been published in Psychiatry Research (2020).

As a research assistant, I studied the embryonic development of the ear, the eye, and the various cranial nerves. Part of this research is published in Clinical Anatomy (2022).

As an educational assistant, I supervised first year Psychobiology students during their practical courses Genetics & Evolution and Cell Biology.
