About Lauren Bach

Lauren Bach is a Lead Academic Advisor of Business Studies at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. They possess expertise in public speaking, research, admissions, leadership, time management and 20 more skills. They is proficient in American Sign Language. Colleagues describe them as "It is my pleasure to recommend Lauren Bach. I have known Lauren since June 2011, after she was accepted into our Honors Program and attended orientation with the other Honors students. We have been fortunate to have Lauren at Minnesota State and in our Honors Program. She is a gifted student, and she is one of a handful of Presidential Scholars, which means that she is among those with the highest academic potential at our university. Her work in my Honors First Year Seminar class was top notch, and she’s never earned less than an A in any of her courses. She was always prepared for my seminar and ready to engage in conversation with her classmates. Her essays were thoughtful, and I asked her to make some of her work public so that her classmates could get a sense of my expectations of their own work. She has chosen the rigorous road at the university; she’s chosen to take senior-level courses since her sophomore year, and she has participated as a lead author in a number of research studies, several of which were presented at national conferences in her field. There are people who seek opportunities in this world so that they might be successful, and then there are people who seek opportunities so that others might be successful. Lauren Bach is among the latter group. Lauren does not seek leadership positions for their sake alone. She chooses to be a leader so that she can enable others. One of her first volunteer experiences saw her represent the university to prospective students and to honored guests of the university. She serves as a mentor to new honors students. She learned American Sign Language so she could communicate effectively with the deaf. Not content to serve at the university alone, she volunteered to run for a position on the Board of Directors for the National Collegiate Honors Council. She actively campaigned at the national conference (having designed her own campaign buttons!), and she was the first student from our university to win an election to the National Board of Directors. As part of the board, she devotes her time to improving the student experience at the national conference. Lauren has the academic experience and confidence to be successful in a variety of opportunities. She has the self-awareness, interpersonal skills and intercultural skills to adapt to new challenges, situations, and environments. My hope is that she will earn a doctorate and see herself as a scholar and researcher while pursuing her chosen career path. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about Lauren’s candidacy. "
