Accomplice – released in the Summer of 2021 – was one of the very first generative AI webapps. Before Midjourney, before DALL-E 2, there was Accomplice. With Accomplice I got to partner with amazing investors and customers. It was an exciting time! But eventually, with the tsunami of VC billions and endless competition, Accomplice was shut down in late 2023.

Helped lead Evolve (https://www.evolveone.com) – a bootstrapped software company here in Charlotte, NC – through a redesign and redevelopment of their web and mobile field services platform, increasing users by 75% and revenue by 35%.

At Khoros (then called Lithium) as a Senior Designer and Developer on the Professional Services team I worked with some of the world’s best companies – Airbnb, Etsy, Google, Spotify, Dropbox, Microsoft and dozens more – to build trusted relationships with customers through community.

On a lark I had the idea for Phoneys a couple of weeks after Apple launched stickers for iMessage.It was a sticker app that let you cover up the texts of your friends, making it seem like they'd said things they'd never said, like "You were right about politics all along" and "Oops, I just pooped myself".It quickly went viral and the night after it launched – the same day that, earlier, TechCrunch and Daring Fireball and The Verge had all written about Phoneys – Apple called and said unless I changed everything about it they'd pull it from the App Store in a week.I didn't change a thing, wrote about the fact that I wasn't – which then kicked off another round of press – and for one glorious week I had the #1 sticker in the world.

In 2013, EMC Digital wanted to expand from New York, NY into Charlotte, NC, so they reached out to me to lead the newly formed design team. Even as a small team, we worked on large-scale projects with Fortune 500 companies like Petco, AT&T, and SIEMENS.

In my time at Skookum the company grew in size by 100%, the company’s revenues grew by 150%, and the revenue generated by the newly formed Design and Product teams eventually overtook the revenue from Development.Notable clients included Lowe’s, Harris Teeter, Coca Cola Bottling Co., and IRIS.

Mocksup was one of the first webapps that made it possible to share mockups and create simple prototypes. Mocksup was sold in 2011 to Invision.

JotSpot was acquired by Google in September of 2006 and relaunched as Google Sites in February of 2008.While at Google I worked on the design and front-end development of Google Sites, as well as Gmail and Google Presentations (now Google Slides).

JotSpot was founded by two co-founders of Excite – Joe Kraus and Graham Spencer – and provided wiki software – from basic collaborative web pages, to robust calendars and todos – for small to medium-sized businesses.JotSpot was one of the leading “Web 2.0” startups and on the forefront of the industry’s move to collaborative, single-page, AJAX-ified webapps.
