The Center for Applied Logistics Management (CALM) bridges the gap between the academic and professional realms of logistics. It provides a Center where all pertinent parties collaborate to respond to government and industry stakeholders' need for the creation and dissemination of practical, cutting-edge, interdisciplinary knowledge and technologies to advance logistics, trade, transportation, and warehousing/distribution and foster economic development in Northern Nevada.

1. Instruct students in Logistics using appropriate course outcomes developed by college-wide subject area faculty; assess student performance in these courses.2. Assist with curriculum review, revision, and develop new course materials and innovative instructional concepts and techniques to facilitate student learning.3. Prepare lesson plans, syllabi and course information sheets, create appropriate teaching aids, create appropriate grading rubrics and arrange provision of instructional materials and activities for student usage in classes and as homework assignments.4. Attend and participate in non-classroom activities such as staff development, department and division meetings, college or NSHE committees and community service activities.5. Participate in student advisement, recruitment and retention efforts.6. Teach courses via telecommunications and distance education.7. Teach 30 (15/15) credit or contact hours during the academic year, August through May.8. Annually define long and short-range professional development goals to remain current in the discipline.9. Provide professional assistance to staff and students. Assist the department chair in mentoring part-time faculty.10. Participate in student learning outcomes assessment.11. Teach day, evening, and/or weekend classes at one (1) or more college locations.

These teams consisted of supplier management, materials management, shop floor control, inventory, supplier quality, and information systems.

Purchasing and Inventory Managero Procured equipment and implemented transition from manual insertion of electronic components to automated surface mount machinery.o Trained product managers how to forecast and plan for seasonality in our industry thus reducing inventory investment in their product lines by 20%, increasing inventory turns and improving customer on time delivery. o Initiated VMI (vendor managed inventory) to reduce space requirements for all instrument case needs.
