We leverage the latest advances in AI, including Generative AI, to create not only new positive experiences for our patients and providers that lead to better health outcomes, but also innovative ways to leverage AI and ML to radically improve process efficiencies.From a strategic perspective I lead a strong cross-functional team looking at implications of Generative AI, not just in developing large numbers of use cases, but also consider legal, governance, privacy, employee upskilling, branding, communication, and of course in technology enablement. I speak frequently to the Board and the CXO team, as well as broadly on AI issues to the company.

New Business Creation is an in-house startup incubator that helps launch select startups after an intense and highly competitive process. Currently one of the startups is in commercial launch, while two others are in later stage development and market validation stage.

Our mission is to partner with startup founders, executive leadership, investors, product leaders and other stakeholders in creating, scaling and operationalizing advance AI and ML models and strategies as part of their core operations. Among multiple companies I advised were Kezoto, a digital health startup, and Embibe, an AI powered online learning platform.

Employed AI and Machine Learning to develop solutions that deliver on the long held dream of personalized therapies for chronic medical conditions. Leveraged the power of Deep Learning and other Machine Learning methods on a large corpus of patient clinical data to precisely tailor individualized therapies and personalized risk profiles.

In addition to leading Data Science at Ola globally, my last role was to build and lead Ola’s US presence from scratch, which meant being responsible for all operational aspects from Company registrations to establishing HR and benefits programs and policies, to helping build out the vision for Ola in the new age of autonomous driving. I interacted with top academic researchers, innovative startups and established giants in the space, and helped hire the best and brightest engineers, scientists and business development people who will together deliver on this next technology and business frontier for Ola.

Reported to Cofounder/CTO and member of CEO's leadership council. Built and led a truly world-class Machine Learning team at Ola, at a time and place when doing so was exceptionally difficult. Starting with a simply articulated vision - "Ola runs on AI" - my wonderful leadership team and I systematically built out the skills, technologies, and varied expertise needed to deliver on the promise of AI and Machine Learning in a dynamic, complex and data-rich ride ride sharing environment like Ola. Ola's platform is rapidly becoming more automated, intelligent, and responsive to consumer, driver, and marketplace needs, thanks to dozens of machine learning models that power the Ola platform. These models leverage the latest advances in Deep Learning techniques as well as more "traditional" constrained optimization and prediction methods. Initial results demonstrate not only significant and quantifiable business benefits, but also true triple bottom line value. Ola is backed by Matrix Partners, Tiger Capital, and Softbank, among other investors. As of October 2019 Ola was valued at USD ~4B in 2018.

Reported to the CEO and Cofounder, and member of CEO's Leadership team. As the Chief Data Scientist and founding CTO I was functionally responsible for the core Data Science that was the foundation of the company's breakthrough energy analytics applications. In this capacity I oversaw both day-to-day implementation of the "Deep Data Analytics" that is at the core of FirstFuel's cloud- based SaaS platform, as well as guide the company's long term technology vision and mission. In addition, as a member of the CEO’s leadership team, I helped refine company strategy, priorities and operations. I participated in raising $46 million in VC investment across three rounds (Series A-C), participated in Board meetings, spoke on behalf of the company to media persons as well as key customer executives, and helped formulate internal policies and best practices. FirstFuel was funded by Battery Ventures, Rock Port Capital and Next World Capital, among others. It was acquired in 2019 by Tendril and merged with other companies to form Uplight.

Reported to the Corporate Vice President. IBM TJ Watson Laboratories is one of the premier industrial research organizations in the private world. At IBM Research I helped develop and implement IBM's Analytics framework in the Energy & Utilities space. Our team provided IBM with industry leading initiatives for the Smarter Energy Institute with global industry participation and develop a reference Smarter Energy platform.

Prediction Machines Inc. provided advanced predictive analytics tools for decision management solutions that advanced clean technology. Our Analytic Engine was powered by patent-pending algorithms that analyzed vast amounts of data made available in the generation, demand and management of energy to help our customers identify, optimize and predict patterns of energy supply and demand.

Head, Center for Decision Analytics Jan 2008  -  Jan 2009Conceptualized and executed on the Centre for Decision Analytics in the company. Oversaw multiple products ranging from precision marketing (millions of customers, billions of transactions, automated precision targeting), multi line Insurance claims fraud, healthcare provider fraud and abuse, e-Commerce fraud prevention, etc. Based on its success, the team, spread across Bangalore, London and San Diego quadrupled in 8 months to 20 specialist data scientists.Senior Director, Asia Pacific Analytic Consulting Practice Oct 2006  -  Dec 2007I led a team of about 40 highly skilled Analytic Risk Management consultants focused on delivering data driven strategies and solutions primarily focused on the consumer banking/lending area serving large and medium sized global banks. Besides the regional focus, my group also played a strategic role in meeting peak demand from North America, EMEA and Latin America and thus had a global footprint. The range of projects included Basel II and other compliance driven engagements, risk management solutions in the entire consumer banking lifecycle including application, behaviour and collections stages, credit line management and optimization, models for tracking, validation and alignment of portfolio scoring strategies, segmentation and business process consulting. Starting from zero in 2004 the group contributed nearly a third of the global revenue for the group at a cost-advantaged value proposition by 2007.

Director, Product Development Aug 2005  -  Sep 2006Program managed the rapid expansion of Product Development team from about 20 to over 80 by year end, and set up the structure for continued growth (near 300 in 2010). Focused on building world class teams doing innovative new product development, and oversaw their close integration with the global teams. Created and managed an R&D team focused on prototyping advanced analytical algorithms.Director and Country Head Jan 2004  -  Jul 2005Setup and execution on all facets of startup operations, including strategic planning, staffing, compliance with all applicable US and India laws, payment and accounting processes, facilities and infrastructure issues, HR policies, campus recruiting, remote management of global teams, interfacing with local business community, etc. Grew headcount from 3 to 45. The office was operationalized in record time from concept to launch. Successfully built the brand name of the company in India across the elite college campuses (IITs, IIMs, ISI) as one of the most desirable places to work for the best and brightest graduates. The success of the initiative prompted the company to accelerate the process of making the Bangalore office the hub for product development work.

Led the embedding of advanced analytics within the SAS Anti Money Laundering (AML) solution, implemented at some of the largest global financial institutions. Deep involvement in product design and sales efforts. Involved in the conceptualization and development of a number of new prototypes for products.

Previously: Senior Manager, Senior Staff Scientist, Staff ScientistI was responsible for a group of 8 Scientists supporting products with annual revenues of about $5 MM. Product solutions included real time fraud detection at E- commerce merchants, fraud and bad debt management for telecom carriers, merchant fraud risk management for acquiring banks, and the development of an anti money laundering (AML) product for retail banks.• Developed and deployed several neural network-based predictive models for the Falcon™ (credit card fraud detection) and eFalcon™ (e-commerce fraud detection) product lines.• Carried out sophisticated profitability simulations for a large Telco carrier using early life monitoring and lifetime value models and built a subscription fraud model for a large wireless carrier.• Developed expertise in a wide assortment of Machine Learning tools and techniques, including neural networks, logistic regression, classification and regression methods, supervised and unsupervised learning (clustering), PCA, Bayesian models, information theoretic measures, etc.
