In order to realise top performance, scientists need supportive environments, lean organisations and mindful, efficient leaders. In 2007, I started TRESS ACADEMIC, together with my partner, with the aim to improve scientific environments and to help researchers and their institutions to thrive.Towards this end, I provide digital courses, workshops, advice and coaching on academic leadership, supervision, team-communication and cooperation. I work with academic leaders on all levels, PhD supervisors, postdocs, and PhD candidates. Underlying all my efforts is my ability to grasp complex situations and problems of others quickly, and to open new and exciting paths of development for them. I thrive from helping someone to gain new insights, and to achieve higher efficiency, purpose and satisfaction. Likewise, I love to transform organisational structures and processes to better support individual and team efforts. As a scientist, I have conducted research and taught at various universities and research institutes throughout Europe, served as an Associate Editor for an international peer-reviewed journal, and supervised students. I am a graduate of Heidelberg University (Germany), obtained a PhD in Landscape Ecology from Roskilde University (Denmark), and worked as a researcher and lecturer at universities in Wageningen (Netherlands) and Aberdeen (United Kingdom).
