• Reworked a very old website from start to finish to modernize it and customize it for several clients. It has a remarkable amount of automation and on the fly logic built in to assist customers working government forms. Worked heavily on the back end and was solely responsible for the UI. Modernized the site to a solid API backend with an Angular front end• Updated the deployment processes and automated it to reduce errors and site down time. Reduced deployment time from over an hour down to 12 minutes, and the site down time was reduced to under 30 seconds for each site.

• Designed and built an companywide Event Reporting process that gathered a wide array of user events from all of the applications at the company, stored them in SQL, processed them into Elasticsearch, made them available for reporting. Made this extremely generic so that each application could store user information that was appropriate to the reporting needs for that app. Also guaranteed that it would work without interfering with or slowing down normal workflow, even in low bandwidth environments.• Implemented the first RabbitMQ process for the company. Helped to educate the permanent staff on different aspects of RabbitMQ, how to efficiently create and maintain exchanges and queues, and how to safely fail messages without losing them. Completed the first project using Rabbit before I left.• Designed and implemented a Third Party Integration solution. This allowed user information to be grabbed dynamically from customer Rest API, SOAP, and WCF connections. Again, they needed this to be very generic and allow for a wide range of customer datasets to be imported into a controlled local environment. We set this up to be easily implemented as new customers came online with a front end to map fields and a SQL back end to store the configurations.

• Led many major software initiatives in both back end (C# APIs and data retrieval) and front end (C# MVC, JavaScript, Angular JS, CSS and LESS). We created lasting tools and systems for both internal and external use including a Profanity filter, Translation point, and multiple examples of new ways to visualize data. All of this increased efficiency, sometimes dramatically, and offered new possibilities to the customers, greatly increasing income and customer loyalty.• Used back-end C# to set up a new Text Analytics process. Our previous process was slow, expensive, and inaccurate. I worked with the Data Science group to develop an in-house version that was free to use, more than triple the speed of response, and raise accuracy from 82% to 98.4%. The new system also allowed intrinsic analysis in 7 languages rather than just English. Customer response was dramatic in its praise.• Led the Training Cadre and implemented a training program to improve processes for both engineers and in house tool users. Began the process of recording training sessions and allowing on demand training for new hires and repeat learners. I still regularly mentor a number of newer programmers.• Was President of Toastmasters for several years and used it to grow in my communication skills and interface with many colleagues who I wouldn’t have had a chance to cross paths with otherwise.• Was chosen as one of very few technical people to interface directly with customers and the CS teams. Position was to answer technical questions, but also to explain complex data and system relationships in ways that the customers could understand.
