  • Novinium Underground
    President - Plenovo Inc.
    Novinium Underground 2018 - 2019
    Kent, Wa, Us
Novinium hired me to turn around its Plenovo business unit and prepare it for a spin-off. The company made IIoT to detect and prevent manhole explosions. I led the business unit as its President, reporting to the CEO and the Board. I joined the team with the business unit unclear of its objective, the product too complicated for customers, and the pricing model misaligned with customer expectations. However, the technical team was superb, and they presented a unique opportunity.I realigned the company around OKRs, making the product user-friendly, and transitioned the business model from ARR to capital expense (an anomaly of the US Utility business). Along the way, I rightsized the business unit, bringing on subject matter experts to help accelerate product development and improve product efficacy. I also led the move from an on-premise solution to Microsoft Azure, reducing operating costs. These changes resulted in pilot project wins with key Utility customers worth multi-millions dollars and the business unit well-positioned for a spin-off.
  • 维信诺
    Ceo - Visionox North America
    维信诺 2015 - 2018
    廊坊市, 河北省, Cn
Visionox hired me to solve the growth problem Visionox was experiencing in North America. Visionox was the third-largest maker of OLED displays after Samsung and LG. I had experience working with Visionox at UICO, and Visionox wanted me to replicate UICO's success for its North American business unit.I joined the company with sales anchored around $1M for the previous four years and a strong commitment from the parent company. It presented me with my first opportunity to lead an international business unit for a multi-billion dollar organization. Using OKRs, I realigned the company's products and pricing to resonate with North American customers. Developed SDK and prototyping kits that reduced customer setup time from weeks to hours and time-to-market from months to days. Built a national sales rep network of 60 to service customers locally - resulting in the company's sales pipeline growing from $1M to $150M ARR in under two years.

  • Uico, Maker Of Duratouch®
    Ceo
    Uico, Maker Of Duratouch® 2011 - 2015
    Elmhurst, Il, Us
I was promoted to CEO by the Board to fix the company's growth trajectory. My job was to turn around the company and prevent it from going bankrupt. I took the job with the company's cash reserves depleted, and with annual sales declining to below a million dollars. It was the most challenging job I had ever undertaken. I refocused the company's effort on customer segments with the highest lifetime value and limiting the number of products that uniquely solved their problems while transforming the business model to ARR. I led the development of the world's first standardized industrial-grade touch solutions that reduced design time from months (industry standard) to a day, reducing time and cost to market. I built a national sales network and the company's critical supply chain - resulting in ARR increase from near zero to $18M with global brands such as Garmin, Kohler, Whirlpool, McDonald’s, United Technologies, and Johnson Outdoors.Along the way, I raised $15M in Series A and Series B capital.

Working directly in a customer-facing role, to help reduce time- and cost- to market.I took this role after the company had achieved initial success but was struggling to grown. It was a role that marked the second pivotal moment in my career.I fixed product-market fit by building the world's first standardized touch solution and a SaaS based design tool that reduced design time from months (industry standard) to a day. I hired and trained a team of field application engineers, helped build the company's supply chain, and spearheaded customer acquisition - resulting in ARR increase from $1M to $60M with global brands such as Kohler, Whirlpool, Electrolux, GE, and Coca-Cola.We successfully sold the business to Methode Electronics for 12x EBITDA.

The IP transformation required the implementation of realtime analog signal processing for safety-critical applications.I joined the company as the company's first founding employee. An exciting role that fully allowed me to exercise my entrepreneurial mindset. Within six months, I was able to launch the company's IP into production, helping us earn our first sales.
  • Act / Invensys Controls
    Software Engineer
    Act / Invensys Controls 1994 - 1996
I joined ACT as an embedded software engineer responsible for developing safety-critical realtime software for appliances. I was a member of a cross-functional team consisting of electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, quality engineers, manufacturing engineers, and sales. I was first rejected for the job, sighting lack of experience. I convinced the hiring manager to allow me to prove myself, pro-bono for a month. He agreed, and a month later I joined the company as its youngest software engineer.During my time at ACT, I developed the world's first operating system for dishwashers, reducing feature development time from months (industry standard) to days. This saved the company hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.
