Baher El-Shaarawy Ph.D. (*1980) - Egyptian. I have studied Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Cairo - Egypt. I graduated in 2002 - I got a master’s degree in 2013 in “Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design” (IUSD) from the University of Stuttgart, Germany. I am a Ph.D. holder 2024 from Ain-Shams University in Cairo, Egypt.I am working as the Vice Chairman at Urban Development Fund (U.D.F)! for Investment and Project Sustainability. As well as a Technical advisor to the Prime-minister for Urban development and management affairs.I had great opportunities to exchange my practical and academic experience with international organizations (World Bank, Un- Habitat, and GIZ) as a consultant; as well as with national-level management of Real Estate and Urban management and development authorities while I was acting as Technical advisor to the Minister of Housing as well, and I had involved for many of new urban development and Real Estate projects.With over twenty-two years of Urban planning, development and management experience in Egypt & Gulf, cities I hqve handled many Real Estate and Urban Projects. I represented the Egyptian government in the "Union for the Mediterranean" as an urban development expert for issuing the new Euro-Mediterranean urban agenda for sustainable development and in the following stages related to urban development affairs. As well as; I represented the Ministry of Housing, utilities, and Urban Communities at international forums with UN-Habitat forums during the last years.I worked also as a lecturer at the Housing and Building National Research Center (HBRC). and worked at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport for an MBA Real Estate program.I am working in multi-disciplinary fields of work such as the Eeal Estate Sector, partnerships with the private sector, urban development and invesetment and urban planning/design with specific references to urban economics and management issues, I am providing technical and financial services and advising on sustainable urban development.
