Hello, I am Bailey Floden, a junior at Eckerd College. I primarily work during the summers as a camp counselor and work as a delivery driver during the school season while balancing my love for DJing. My love for children and education is what drew me to the camp industry and the experiences and knowledge I have gained are what have kept me. Below I have attached a letter of recommendation from a past teacher of mine who had me as a student all through high school. To whom it may concern:I am writing on behalf of Bailey Floden who is without a doubt one of the most dedicated individuals I have ever met. Bailey rises to every occasion despite the odds. They are a remarkable student, an inspiring leader, and someone who has represented impeccable leadership time and time again. I have had the pleasure of working with Bailey since their freshman year of high school when they pushed themself out of their comfort zone to apply for a leadership position and was selected based on merit and the drive necessary to find success. Since then, Bailey has jumped at every opportunity that has come their way, not only providing the aforementioned leadership in the community, but also teaching the next generation and fostering that same personal drive.When there’s a problem, Bailey is the first to jump in with solutions, trying to find a way to navigate or mitigate the problem but when that isn’t possible, they take the time to learn from the challenges we face. There have been times when Bailey’s life outside of the leadership roles or the classroom has been tempestuous. And Bailey has shown their bravery by asking for help. We have had long conversations about what it means to be proud of what they have accomplished. There have been peers or events that have tried to tear down the success that Bailey has garnered but they stand despite the storm with their head held high.I have seen Bailey become one of the most talented, mindful, and diligent leaders during my time teaching. They have overcome their own insecurities in order to embrace their extraordinary talent.
