After almost a decade of working in broadcasting, I took on a new career opportunity.While working as a television reporter, I gained experience in every facet of content creation.We pitched ideas, wrote, shot, and edited our own stories for broadcast. I’m used to the pressure ofproducing content on tight deadlines, and as Sports Director I gained experience in managingpeople, projects, and resources. I oversaw the creation of social media accounts for my currentstation’s sports department. Those accounts saw a steady increase in followers since goingonline and I was incredibly proud of the continued growth they’ve seen.I’ve always prided myself on my ability to tell stories, and getting others to open up and telltheirs. Being visible in the community helped me to make connections with our viewers and geta better understanding of the things they cared about. I was able to turn their tips for me into thestories I would pitch each day. Those are skills that will transfer well into my next challenge!
