This past spring, I earned my undergraduate degree at the University of Connecticut in general studies with a double minor in psychological sciences and human development and family studies with a specific interest in American Sign Language. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in applied behavior analysis at Purdue Global University with hopes of becoming a BCBA. I am employed full time as an autism paraprofessional at the Atlantic County Special Services school district, and the assistant coach for Vineland girl’s crew! I was a scholarship member of the varsity Division 1 women’s rowing program at UConn for 3 years until my medical retirement in the spring of my junior season. During my time with the team, I stood as one of the 2 SAAC representatives for 2 consecutive years and, as a freshman, was part of a successful civil rights lawsuit with 11 other teammates on behalf of Title IX. During my freshman year, I stood as “freshman captain” during quarantine, a role introduced to convey communication with the coaches. Being involved with sports has taught me the importance of adaptability, structure, team work, confidence, leadership, communication, and many other skills. I am CPR/First Aid certified and have recently recieved my Nonviolent Crisis Intervention blue card.
