Working as a speech language pathologist to conduct assessments, diagnose a variety of speech and language disorders, create individualized treatment plans based on clinical observation and standardized assessments, plan one on one therapy sessions to target SMART goals and complete timely detailed documentation regarding goals and outcomes. Understanding of a variety of EMR systems to document patient information and progress. Collaborate with physical therapists and occupational therapists to provide personalized care and provide training to therapists and families on implementation of AAC devices and communication strategies. I have specific experience working with pediatric language development, expressive-receptive language disorders, articulation disorders, phonological disorders, fluency disorders, apraxia, AAC/augmentative and alternative communication, pragmatic language skills, gestalt language processing, swallowing and tethered oral tissue.

As a graduate student clinician, I participated in an intensive 8-week medical externship under the supervision of a certified speech-language pathologist. During this period, I provided comprehensive speech and language services to clients within a rehabilitation hospital setting. I gained valuable experience targeting a wide range of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, specifically working with patients who had experienced significant medical events such as strokes, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, or surgeries that impacted their ability to communicate or swallow. I collaborated closely with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and social workers, to deliver holistic and effective patient care.

During a 16-week educational externship, I served as a graduate student clinician under the supervision of a certified speech-language pathologist, providing speech and language services to children in kindergarten through fifth grade. This experience allowed me to develop and implement individualized goals and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), enhancing my proficiency in managing expressive language disorders, receptive language disorders, articulation disorders, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies.
