My long term goal is to be a leader in global health that advocates for population-based policies that improve health and in equitable manner. I have hands on experience conducting micro scale cancer research at the National Institute of Health and macro level, population based research in China, allowing for public and global health sharing of best practices between sovereign states. My approach: Health research applied to science and politics, addressing knowledge gaps between medical innovations such as vaccines, drugs and care strategies and their delivery to patients and communities globally.As a Schwarzman scholar it is has become my mission to impact and cultivate lasting interdisciplinary relationships between China and the United States leading to the improvement of public health efforts, political relationships, and the dissemination of knowledge. In upcoming years, I plan to help shape research agendas between China and the United States, stimulating the generation translation and dissemination of critical scientific knowledge. This partnership will help produce norms, standards and the promotion of public health from both countries that will be trusted and accepted by all.
