I am a current fourth year logistics and supply chain management student at the University of North Texas. I'm looking to increase experience in this field in an internship opportunity. I specifically enjoy learning about the different aspects of transportation. Through my schooling so far I have become proficient in programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and am certified in Microsoft Excel. My aim is to combine this education with my knowledge of the veterinary field to accommodate both my interests/passions. In my current position as a veterinary technician I have become very familiar with many common medical practices and proficient in carrying them out. I have gotten where I am by hard work and determination using my position as a volunteer to learn and grow my knowledge that led to me becoming an employee. My job consists of hands-on practice that requires precision and concentration. Fast paced problem solving, and emergent situations are common and have helped me to work well under pressure and act with decisiveness. My job also requires me to be skilled in customer service. handling communication between doctors and clients not only requires accuracy but empathy. Many conversations consist of sensitive situations or knowledge that clients have no familiarity with and creates a need for patience.

  I have a lot of hands on work and many opportunities to observe and assist licensed veterinarians in their work. Through this job I have gained many skills necessary to care for animals and administer medical treatment. I am in charge of carrying out treatments for animals and creating communication with clients. I am also responsible for things like running bloodwork, assisting in surgeries(anesthesia), preforming cytology’s, etc.
