As Upper School Dean of Students and Class 12 Chair:-Coordinate daily operations for an Upper School of 690 students, including publishing a weekly Infographic-style Student Life update-Work with Student Affairs Council leaders to present Student Life updates at Class Meetings-Review weekly pressure points for students including Academic Assessments, Fine Arts performances, Field Trips, and Athletics Games-Help in school-sponsored event planning including Homecoming Week & Dance, Senior Retreat, Class 9 Valentine's Dance, Prom, and Student Affairs Council elections-Revise and publish a Student and Parent Handbook annually-Conduct Discipline Conversations with students, parents, advisors, and administrators-Organize Honor Trials with Student Affairs Council student leaders and faculty sponsors-Participate in regular Administration and Senior Administration meetings-Plan a diverse Assembly schedule including: Affinity Groups, Clubs, outside speakers, Prefect Elections, Fine Arts, and Final Student Recognition programs-Assist in creating Advisory Groupings for approximately 175 Class 9 students each year-Communicate weekly advisory updates to grade level advisors in regular meetings and "week ahead" emails-Interview prospective students and parents and speak at Admissions events

-As Assistant Dean of Students and Class 12 Class Chair: -Track daily attendance of 600+ Upper School students -Plan Upper School assemblies, coordinating with outside speakers and student affinity groups -Coordinate a new curriculum-based advisory system for 70+ advisors in the Upper School, and brief Class 12 advisors on upcoming lessons and advisory updates -Promote the school's vibrant student club culture (70 + clubs) -Chaperone student events including athletic contests, fine arts performances, and school dances -Collected bi-monthly academic, student life, fine arts, and athletic commitments for 12th grade students and reported this information to school stakeholders -Worked as a co-sponsor of the Peer Leaders, a group of forty 12th grade leaders whose mission is to engage and ease the transition of 9th grade students-As a 9th grade (World History I/Global Issues in Historical Context) and 11th grade (US History) teacher: -Closely collaborate with course team members in developing rich content, engaging lessons, and appropriate assessments -Participated in the Harvard Business School Case Study pilot program for United States History and currently serve on both the program's Teachers Council and Advisory Board -Implemented the Cornell note taking method to drive question-led class sessions -Attended the National Council for the Social Studies annual conference in Boston, MA -Participated in a successful independent audit of the History departmentOther: -Student advisor: met daily with nine advisees to review important upcoming events, discuss academic performance, and provide general support in everyday Upper School life -Assistant Girls Tennis Coach: led practices, chaperoned away tennis matches, and collaborated on an extensive "season in review" written report detailing the development of each player on the team

-Full time faculty member (taught a full load of five classes)-Taught Modern World History (9th grade history) for two years and Current World Issues (history elective) for one year-Emphasized the following skills: Cornell note taking, DBQ analysis and writing, and general discussion-Implemented "flipped classroom" lessons using the school's iPad program-Coordinated a program with the 8th grade history (Ancient World History) teacher to ensure a smooth transition for incoming 9th grade history students-Took part in several vertical team meetings with history teachers from all three divisions to help map skills and content for Escuela Americana students-Contributed in an Upper School faculty and staff interview with SACS reaccreditation team-Participated in a 9th grade "Remembrance Day" project honoring the memories of victims of genocides in modern history-Served as the international faculty representative on the G-40 (school leadership society) selection committee-Chaperoned community service trips with 9th grade students to local orphanages-Traveled to local historical and archaeological sites in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador to further my knowledge of Mesoamerican civilizations
