Director Of Marketing And Product Management
St Louis, Missouri, Us
(Previous positions: Content Team Mgr., Dir. of Product Management, and Director of Investor Relations)Joined the company (then GuruNet Inc.) to build a team of 15 Content Editors to assess, integrate and edit third party content for a virtual library. Handled contract negotiations and interaction with technical teams. Promoted to run the Product Management team, defining and documenting Enterprise version of our product, coordinating with training/sales team in our California office. Segued to Marketing and Investor Relations as the company re-branded itself as Answers.com, replaced product strategy and went public. (Google-related Trivia: I produced the gutsy presentation to urge Eric Schmidt to use Answers.com as its “definition” link for the next three years.) Managed a team split between our Israel, California and NY offices.Marketing responsibilities included:• Public Relations – in-house and out-sourced• Trade Shows appearances — booths and numerous speaking opportunities• Market Communications – branding, boilerplates, earnings call scripts• All informational website content and design• Promotions and Advertising, assessing all advertising strategies on the site• Widget development and promotion• Company spokesperson – Israel and U.S.• White Papers (writing and publishing)• Demos and presentations (PPT and animated)Finally, my final stage included responsibility for the community of WikiAnswers, our user-contributed content site. Primary goal was to work with the Supervisors, or power-users: identify, recruit, educate, monitor, encourage, thank/reward, listen to, and simply represent Management in discussions. Created a hard-working group of over 200 volunteers.
