I completed two projects during a six-month internship at Amazon Robotics.1. I created an application for processing hardware log files to analyze performance and identify issues with an experimental system for dramatically improving the speed of scanning inventory barcodes. The application periodically scraped hardware files, cleaned and structured the data, and create database entries for analysis. Built using Java and Bash.2. I developed and assembled an electronic system to detect objects at packing stations in warehouses as a measurement of the current backlog on a specific station. When the backlog reached a minimum or maximum threshold, relevant personnel were alerted in order to make adjustments. I tested the system in a live warehouse and created a plan for improving the system in subsequent versions, including the addition of data capture to analyze event timing.
