This role includes supporting program directors and administrative staff through all processes of their programs, supporting staff training by leading four- three three-three-hour-long courses, and co-developing the Tools and Supportive Practices Class curriculum. Pre-program work includes: managing referral leads and catalog requests, receiving and reviewing student and staff forms, supporting during the leader application process, creating trip binders, and getting gear ready to go out on programs. During the programs I help to manage problems that arise while the groups are on programs, either via phone or email. Post-program I inventory and clean gear, disassemble trip binders and collect feedback forms.

I work as an on call Emergency Support Coordinator during the weekends. I work to support leaders in the field and work through issues that come up during the weekend. I answer a 24/7 phone line and respond to emails that come in over the weekend.

I have led four 70-day gap semester programs with ARCC; two in the U.S. and two in South America. I have also led two 10-day custom programs to Yosemite & Tahoe/ Yosemite & Sequoia and three 14-24 day summer trips to Yellowstone & Grand Teton, Hawaii and Alaska with middle and high school aged youth. When I'm not in the field I work as a weekend Emergency Support Coordinator where I support teams in the field through challenges that arise and take notes for the office staff of situations, calling in support if needed. As a Gap Instructor I work to build a tight-knit group through team-building activities, games and interpersonal conversations. I work to empower students in leadership roles, push them to step into their “growth zone” and to build their skills in independence. I use love and logic as well as Montessori principles when working through challenges and to create a safe environment for students to fail and feel supported. I am responsible for managing the trip budget, being in communication with the office and partners, managing/coordinating help for medical situations and providing 24/7 support to the students.I am also in charge of co-designing a place based experiential curriculum for the semester. The curriculum looks at local manifestations of local issues through the six themes of: - Environment and conservation- Education and literacy- Public health- Indigenous rights and histories- The movement of people- Social justice

I acted as the community coordinator for the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. To ensure that the Crown Heights community had access to the core preparedness classes offered by the American Red Cross. I developed relationships with key community stake holders, found a space for the programs to be held, scheduled classes, attended community meetings and delivered classes to the community. My time in NYC and Internship were cut short due to COVID-19.

I spent three months working within Te Organganui as a part of the Rangatahi Team (healthy families) where I worked on the development of youth at risk programs. I worked on a team comprised of Maori coworkers who used Indigenous knowledge to guide our work.

Raft guided trips for high school aged campers down the North Fork of the Flathead for three weeks. While onsite, packed out food for the trips leaving the next week, created a curriculum which taught the history of the First peoples of the land which the camp is situated on, was a resource to my fellow coworkers, I taught faith based curriculum, lead daily activities, planned worships, cared for campers daily needs, lifeguarded, ensured facilities were clean and performed first aid.
