Outreach Program Manager And Volunteer Coordinator
Isr Connects - C3 Program Manager & Volunteer Coordinator
ISR Connects is social engagement program for disabled adults and those over the age of 60. ISR Connects hopes to close the gap between older adults and social isolation through activities and meaning social interactions. In 2023, the Surgeon General called attention to the lack of connection, social isolation, and loneliness, being the top health risk factor for adults. ISR Connects is our response to this statement. We have three different volunteer groups, based of geographic sections of Whidbey Island. Within these groups, we have volunteers who are paired with participants of similar interests. Weekly, volunteers will meet their assigned participant(s). We currently have a volunteer reading to a blind client, volunteers meeting participants for meals and weekly walking groups. Participants are able to attend free theatre shows or concerts through ISR Connects. As Program Manager, I onboard new clients by completing two assessments and assign them to volunteers. We will discuss the program details and a potential meeting schedule with the participant. I work with volunteers and participants regarding the activities and events available to them. Creating monthly calendars of events for volunteers to show their participant(s), creating rsvp lists and scheduling transportation to and from events. As Volunteer Coordinator, I currently handle all volunteer and Private In-Home Provider List (PIP) applications. Each application requires background checks and proper documentation uploaded to two databases. Twice a month, I will lead volunteer orientations where I discuss the variety of programs available at Island Senior Resources and what volunteering within each program looks like. During the orientation, volunteers will go through a HIPAA and Mandatory Reporter training. Once volunteers have gone through the orientation, they will be approved to meet with clients within their respective volunteer programs.

As Lead Intake Specialist, I handle and update all intake processes. Maintaining and updating all Intake Standard Operating Procedures has been one of my main projects. Since the start of the start of 2023, I have also assisted in updating all volunteer documents that may have expired during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have created a streamlined process throughout our updating processes and now have made this standard practice across ISR. While working as a volunteer coordinator, I maintain all of our Whidbey Island volunteers while assisting with our Camano Island volunteers as well. While having an array of day to day activities, I still assist with data entry of client information and departmental information, updating client files, and outreach to local organizations.
